Frequently asked questions

  • When can I expect to receive my security deposit refund?

In accordance with California law, it is mandated that a security deposit along with any remaining funds be refunded within 21 days subsequent to the date you return possession of the property to us. While we strive for promptness in this process, please be aware that unforeseen delays in scheduling or invoicing for work on the property may necessitate the full allotted time.

  • Do I have to pay an application fee?

Yes, our application fee is $50.00

  • Do you accept co-signers?

Mission Center Properties does not accept co-signers. All applicants over the age 18 years must be able to qualify on their own and meet rental criteria requirements.

  • How do I pay rent?

Mission Center Properties offers two rent payment options. You can pay your rent online and conveniently through your resident portal, or deliver your rent payment (must be either check or money at our drop box located at 8300 Station Village Lane #8 San Diego, CA 92108)

  • Why do I need Renters Insurance?

Renters insurance is mandatory for all our properties. While we advise obtaining coverage independently to tailor it to your specific needs, you also have the option to join Mission Center Properties' liability-only insurance policy for a monthly fee.

  • I want to move out, but my roommate wants to stay. What do I do?

If you wish to vacate the property while your roommate prefers to remain, please reach out to your property manager to initiate the process for a roommate release addendum. It's important to note that the remaining resident must demonstrate financial eligibility for the property independently before the other resident can be removed from the rental agreement. If you're in the middle of your lease and it's not yet up for renewal, there may be a fee for swapping roommates.

  • How do I submit a maintenance request?

Maintenance requests can be submitted thought your resident portal.

  • Who is responsible for paying for repairs & maintenance requests?

Although the majority of repairs are typically covered by either the owner or insurance, there are certain exceptions to this rule. Should the damage result from misuse, negligence, or fall within the explicit terms outlined in the lease agreement as the tenant's responsibility, then the cost would be borne by you. It is advisable to consult your lease agreement to ascertain which charges are designated as the tenant's responsibility.
